What we do

Mobile and manufactured homes usually get their power from a pedestal or post beside the home, and RV owners need a proper RV hookup at home, not an extension cord. Out in Suncoast heat, rain and salt air, that equipment takes a beating. We look at what you have and what the home or RV needs, then repair or replace the pedestal, breakers and wiring so they match. We pull the required permit, coordinate with the utility when the job calls for it, and schedule the inspection. In mobile-home parks and communities, we coordinate with park or community management, including when the park owns the pedestals.

  • Mobile and manufactured home service pedestals, new and replacement
  • Meter pedestal and meter base repair and replacement: rusted, damaged or burned equipment
  • Feeders from the pedestal to the home's panel
  • RV hookups at homes: RV pedestals and outdoor RV outlets, 30-amp (TT-30) and 50-amp (NEMA 14-50)
  • Circuit, breaker and wire sized for the outlet
  • Panel and service capacity check before we add an RV outlet; if the panel is tight, a load calculation or panel upgrade
  • Permits pulled and inspections scheduled; utility coordination
  • Mobile-home parks and communities: we coordinate with park or community management. See HOA, condo & commercial

How a pedestal job works

  1. Text us photos: send photos of the existing pedestal (or the spot for a new RV outlet) with your address, name, phone and email. We'll review them and schedule a time to come out.
  2. Permit, utility and park: we pull the permit, coordinate with the utility, which pulls and resets the meter, and with park management if the park owns the pedestal.
  3. Install and inspect: pedestal, breakers and wiring installed and tested, then we schedule the inspection.

Picking the right setup

Mobile home

Mobile home power pole or pedestal?

Same thing, two names. The main disconnect for a mobile home usually sits on a pedestal or post beside the home, not on the home itself.

Mobile home

Feeder

Runs from the pedestal to the home's panel with four wires: two hots, a neutral and a separate ground.

RV

30-amp RV outlet

A TT-30 outlet on 120 volts, for RVs with a three-prong 30-amp plug.

RV

50-amp RV outlet

A NEMA 14-50 outlet on 120/240 volts, for RVs with a four-prong 50-amp plug. Many electric cars can use the same outlet type; see EV chargers.

Common questions

Can you replace the pedestal at my mobile home?

Yes. We repair or replace mobile and manufactured home pedestals, including meter pedestals, and the feeder to the home. We pull the permit and schedule the inspection. If the meter has to come out, the utility pulls and resets it; we coordinate that with them.

Who owns the pedestal in a mobile home park?

It depends on the park. The park's prospectus or rules say who provides and maintains the electrical equipment on each lot. Some parks own the pedestals; in others, each homeowner does. If you're not sure, ask the park office.

I live in a mobile-home park. Can you work on the park's pedestal?

Yes. We coordinate with park or community management, including when the park owns the pedestals. Tell us who the park or community manager is when you call or text.

Do I need a permit?

Yes. We pull the electrical permit and schedule the inspection.

Who pulls the meter?

The utility. Only the utility removes and resets the meter; we coordinate the timing with them, and they reconnect once the inspection passes.

Does my RV need a 30-amp or 50-amp outlet?

Check the plug on your RV's power cord. A 30-amp RV plug has three prongs and runs on 120 volts (TT-30). A 50-amp plug has four prongs and runs on 120/240 volts (NEMA 14-50). Text us a photo of the plug and we'll tell you which one you need.

Can I use a dryer outlet for my RV?

No, not safely as a plug-in. A dryer outlet is a 240-volt circuit wired for a dryer. A 30-amp RV runs on 120 volts, and a mismatched adapter can send 240 volts into the RV and damage it. A 50-amp RV plug needs a proper 50-amp RV outlet (NEMA 14-50) on its own correctly sized circuit. We install the right outlet for your RV.
